My name's Snow.
I was called “faggot” every day as a teenager. And they were right. I’m fag. I am a censored word. I can’t say “faggot” in a Youtube video without it being flagged and taken down. I am a transgressive word–to speak my name is an act one can’t take lightly. I can’t speak on myself without being called “brave” and I can’t write about myself without being called a degenerate.
The only things I know are:
- I am what others say I am.
- I am only as deep as my grave.
Attic Games
- Treat works as if they have (or have the chance to hold) consciousness.
- Know that play is natural, like love and fear.
- Love that everything is a choice and thus everything can be talked about.
- Desire rules that aren’t fair.
- Embrace rituals that aren’t necessary.
- See that everything is world building, and world building is everything.
- Know that Voice is key.
- Love the medium and its artistic movements.
- Fear that comparisons to other mediums limit us.
- Are aware that every work is a language.
- Care that everything is a mechanic.
- Know that balance has no end and thus no meaning.
- Ask that you say at least one thing that’s true.
- Ask that same thing from readers and players.
- Know that presentation is everything, and everything is presentation.
- Yearn for you, because your interaction changes them.
- Know that most works are never finished.
- Know that most finished works are never seen
- Know that most seen works are never read.
- Embrace that most read works are never played.
- Don’t care that most played works are never played twice.

#4 is so damn good! These are all excellent.
I don't get it. Why are unfair rules desirable?
Simply because life is unfair. It's an important lesson to learn, especially in the context of a temporary game that has no lasting consequences.
Preach!
